His role is to take students of all abilities though the basic functionality of SolidWorks 3D modelling software as well as Keyshot. In his lecturing work, Liam predominantly teaches CAD to design students. Liam is currently working to create the largest library of digital KeyShot assets available online. In 2021, Liam founded his business, Momnt, working with a wide range of design and marketing companies - including Logitech and ASUS – to visualise and promote their products. Tutor profile: Liam Martin is Founder and Senior Artist at Momnt and part-time lecturer at NTU.Īfter graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Product Design at NTU, he worked as a freelance CGI Artist, specialising in product rendering with KeyShot. It was practical and we worked through a lot of tutorials and exercises." BK "I really enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it – Liam was very knowledgeable and a great teacher.
I would definitely attend more Keyshot courses, and will recommend this course to my friends." PC "I was provided with enough resources to practice on my own. "I enjoyed the technicality in the materials graphs and learning all the aspects of post processing" GR "Liam was a great teacher, very knowledgeable." GR

You’ll also have access to our library to use outside of your short course whilst you can’t reserve or take away books, you are welcome to use them as a resource for research and referencing. You’ll work in our spacious IT suites equipped with industry standard software including Keyshot and Adobe Creative Cloud. Where you'll learn: You will be based in the School of Architecture, Design and Built Environment on the City Campus.
In addition to these sessions on campus, there'll also be an online after-care session with your tutor and the group to discuss any technical questions you have.Įntry requirement: You should have a professional or academic background in design, and be a confident design software user. You will leave with professional renders that will enhance your portfolio or CV, elevating your work above the rest of the competition. You will be able to create advanced Keyshot renders using a combination of the basic and expert tools. Upon completing this course, you will be able to apply your rendering knowledge to a wide range of projects, and identify what scene would work well for a certain product. Output renders using optimised settings. Navigate Keyshot efficiently using a variety of workflow techniques Create and edit highly-detailed materials using external textures Light scenes using a combination of basic and advanced techniques
Compose and render a photo-realistic scene from scratch Manipulate and edit highly-detailed materials in Keyshot and use external textures
Create realistic textures including metals, wood, plastics, fabrics and other materials Follow processes led by the tutor, step-by-step Build a realistic scene from scratch using a CAD model The goal is always to make rendering as easy as possible, so that you can spend as much time as possible making a better product. This course is suitable for beginners with a knowledge of CAD as it will start with the basics, however, there will be lots of information that more experienced users will benefit from based on my experience with the software. It allows you to test the aesthetic of a design without prototyping it, and saves you money that would have to be spent on a photographer and studio.ĭesign companies all over the world are therefore turning to CGI to improve how they market their products. It can also be used to promote your own work and impress potential employers, customers or investors. Rendering is not just a glamourous end to a design process. This course is suitable for anyone who has basic 3D CAD modelling experience. It’s ideal for product designers, interior and spatial designers and architects who want to use rendering to create visually impactful shots of their designs when studio photography may be unaffordable or inaccessible.
On this course, you’ll learn how to create stunning renders of 3D CAD models using Keyshot. Many industry leaders use renders instead of photography now, and for good reason.
